Risek sachets 40mg 10s (Omeprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor that inhibits gastric acid secretion. When gastric ulcer is suspected, the possibility of malignancy should be excluded as treatment may alleviate symptoms and delay diagnosis. Prior to initiation of dual or triple therapy, the physician should consider the patient with known hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin, macrolides and other antibiotics.

As all acid-blocking medicines, may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) due to hypo- or achlorhydria. Risek Insta 20mg Sachet should be considered in patients with reduced body stores or risk factors for reduced vitamin B12 absorption on long-term therapy.

Indications: 

• Treatment of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): heart burn and other symptoms associated with GERD and treatment of erosive esophagitis which has been diagnosed by endoscopy.
• Short term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. Some patients may require an additional therapy.
• Short term treatment of active benign gastric ulcer.
• For maintenance treatment of healing of erosive esophagitis.
• For reduction treatment of risk of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in critically ill patients.
