HISTARGAN SYRUP 60ML

Histargan 60ml preparations contain a medicine called promethazine hydrochloride. This belongs to a group of medicines called phenothiazines. It works by blocking a natural substance (histamine )that the body makes during an allergic reaction. It also works on the brain to help you feel more relaxed.

Histargan 60ML may be provided directly by a pharmacist in the following situations; to treat allergic conditions such as hay fever or rashes(like nettle rash or hives), to treat adults with difficulty sleeping (insomnia) to stop you from feeling sick(nausea) or being sick (vomiting )such as travel sickness.
In addition, the doctor can give Histargan to help one feel relaxed before an operation or as a sedative to children and adults.

Composition ; Each 5 ml contains Promethazine HCL BP 5mg , Excipients Q.S

Dosage; AS directed by the pharmacist or doctor

Side effects ;(Important side effects)-Allergic reactions which may cause difficult in breathing ,swelling of the mouth or skin , vomiting or stomach pain, jaundice, palpitations (abnormal heart rhythm),low blood( dizziness or lightheadedness), blurred or reduced vision or pain in the eye ,Anaemia and lack of energy, reduction of white blood cells and platelets in the blood ,causing ulcers in the mouth and throat, high temperatures and bruising easily and convulsions.

Other possible side effects ;-Drowsiness, Dizziness or headaches, clumsiness or disorientation ,shaking and trembling , stomach upsets or dry mouth, Difficulty passing urine, restlessness or excitation ,sensitivity to sunlight ,difficulty in breathing sleeping ringing in the ears, blocked /stuffy nose
