COUGH-OFF SYRUP WET 100ML

Description

Cough-off syrup wet 100ml is indicated for the symptomatic relief of the upper respiratory tract disorders accompanied by productive cough which is benefited by a combination of a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, a nasal decongestant and expectorant. Pseudoepherine has a direct and indirect sympathomimetic activity and is an effective upper respiratory tract. guaiphenesin is thought to exert its pharmacological action by stimulating receptors in the gastric mucosa. This possesses minimal anticholinergic activity. Tripolidine provides symptomatic relief in conditions believed to depend wholly or partly upon the triggered release of histamine. Guaiphenesin is thought to exert its pharmacological action by stimulating receptors in the gastric mucosa. This increases the output from secretory glands of the respiratory tract. The results is an increase in volume and decrease in viscosity of bronchial secretions. Guaiphenesin produces its expectorant action within 24 hours. This renders Cough-off syrup wet as being very efficient.

Dosage

Adults and children 12 years and over

10mls three to four times a day
to be taken orally.
Children from 6 to 12 years

5ml three times daily
Children from 2 to 5 years

2.5ml three times.
Not suitable for children under 2 years ,except on the advice of a physician.
Composition

Each 5 ml contains 1.25mg Tripolidine Hydrochloride BP, 30 Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride BP and 100mg Guaiphesin BP in a clear orange- coloured, spicy lemon flavoured oral solution.

Side Effects:
1. Central nervous system depression or excitement may occur,
2. drowsiness,
3. Sleep disturbance,
4. hallucinations,
5. Skin rashes, with or without irritation,
